To no one's surprise another Ohio State wide receiver will be drafted early in the upcoming draft. Carnell Tate is this year's flavor and by all indications will not fall out of the top 10. Tate displays very smooth athleticism for such a large frame, and it's easy to understand why his skillset will be heavily sought after. A distinct trait Tate has over the rest of this receiver class is his body control as a sideline warrior. He is extremely good at getting open outside the hashes and coming down with both feet in bounds. Tate is not my personal favorite receiver in this class, but I can see the reason others rank him at the top of this year's class. I question his overall ceiling, but he is an extremely safe prospect in a class that does not have many clear-cut stars.

Tate is the WR1 in this class based on projected draft selections in our model, and ended up in our elite tier of Prospect Scores. He will keep a 65+ Prospect Score as long as he goes in the top 12 of the draft (I personally do not see him falling past the Giants at 10) which means you should draft him with confidence. Tate has some of the best hands in the class, which are showcased by a very low drop rate and high contested catch percentile. He also gets a bump in our model by producing against tough competition throughout his college career. Tate should be in play for the 1.02 and will likely be gone by 1.04 in most leagues.
